An accomplished tech and nonprofit executive, Thabang Mashologu has over 20 years of broad experience in the tech industry, including engineering, product management, marketing, developer relations, and open source ecosystem development. He currently leads global marketing and community programs for the Eclipse Foundation and its thriving ecosystem of maintainers, contributors, users, members, and vendors.
Previously, Thabang was the VP, Business and Community Operations at the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF). Prior to the CNCF, he led marketing at Zenhub, a leader in project and productivity management for innovative startups, enterprises, and open source projects. Over the years, Thabang helped launch and grow several working groups related to cloud native technologies, microservices, edge, the Internet of Things, and the Java ecosystem, including Jakarta EE, MicroProfile, Eclipse Cloud Development Tools, Edge Native, and Adoptium.
Earlier in his career, Thabang held R&D and product management positions at CENX (acquired by Ericsson), Bell Canada, and Nortel Networks (acquired by Ciena). Thabang, who is originally from the Kingdom of Lesotho, Southern Africa, holds degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering with Distinction from Simon Fraser University and Carleton University, respectively, in Canada. He also holds an MBA from the University of Ottawa, Canada.
Thabang lives in Ottawa with his wife and two hockey-loving sons.

I was proud to serve on the board of Help Lesotho, an amazing organization whose leadership programs and community services reach approx. 20,000 children and vulnerable people per year in the Kingdom of Lesotho, Southern Africa. Since 2004, over 180,000 people have benefitted from their programs.
Help Lesotho was named a Top 25 Charity to Support in Canada by the Financial Post (2015) and was one the first charities in Canada to receive the Imagine Canada Accreditation, which they have maintained since 2014.
